The Components of a Concrete Lifting System

As with any construction project, there are many parts that go into making an effective concrete lifting system. Whether your client needs you to lift a sidewalk or an airport runway, you need the right tools to make that happen.

At PolyPier, we strive to ensure that each of our partner contractors have all the tools they need in order to offer their clients the kind of precision concrete leveling work that they expect.

Here are some of the pieces:

1. Polyurethane Concrete Leveling Foam

Polyurethane foam is used for everything from cushions to insulation. Even within the realm of concrete leveling, certain foams are going to be superior for void filling while others can be more effective for undersealing.

At PolyPier, we have a wide variety of polyurethane foams available and we will work with you to ensure you have the right foam to meet the needs of your clients. We partnered with polyurethane foam experts NCFI to bring you foams that can offer a precision lift.

2. Spray Foam Proportioners

Spray foam proportioners pump the correct proportion of the foam components to the spray foam gun.

The pump drive system pumps the correct levels of each part to the gun, where they are mixed. The amount that can be pumped depends on the proportioner. The models that PolyPier offers range from 28 pounds per minute with the economically priced PMC PH2 to 55 pounds per minute with PMC’s PH55.

3. Concrete Lifting Injection Guns

The polyjacking gun is responsible for the injection part of the concrete lifting process. Hoses run from the proportioner to the gun, carrying the polyurethane foam components.

The polyjacking gun then injects the combined mixture into the ground through ports, which are inserted into holes drilled in the concrete slab.

At PolyPier, we offer polyjacking guns from two of the biggest names in the industry, Graco and PMC. Whichever best meets your needs, you can know that you are getting a quality piece of equipment when you go with either Graco or PMC.

4. Concrete Lifting Hoses & Accessories

Along with the proportioner and gun, there are plenty of other smaller necessary parts to concrete lifting systems. These include things like the hoses that run to and from the proportioner to the ports used in the injection process. A drill will also be needed to create the holes into which the foam is injected.

5. A Well-Trained Crew

No amount of quality foam or equipment will matter if your crew isn’t properly trained to use it. That is why PolyPier offers our PolyPier school.

This combination of classroom lessons and practical, in-the-field training gives your crew all the information they need to offer precision lifts of sunken concrete slabs.
